Central to my role is helping the team and its data scientists conceptualize and build software tools that assemble, interpret and deliver data to and from internal and external resources. As a Python-centric full stack engineer, I program scalable applications across server- and cloud-based Linux environments, deploying and managing containers using Docker, in a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) ecosystem.

I also program APIs, microservices, and integrated API data solutions using Python Flask and Django. For user-facing applications, I code in a number of JavaScript frameworks, primarily React, or build free-standing applications using Python Django depending on the intended use of the application and how/where it will be deployed. Applications utilize data systems as a project requires, from open source MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and PostgreSQL instances to SQL and MSSQL databases.

My primary focus is engineering and programming Python-based automation tools and bot technologies that service C.H. Robinson internal teams and/or its external customers and carriers. These applications capture and sanitize data, make decisions based on system inputs and data modeling, and act on outcomes rapidly with little to no human intervention. By automating processes, my tools directly assist teams on the the ground be more efficient and effective in decision-making and in engaging with customers.

Beyond data science, I bridge other internal groups working with software engineers and project managers in the delivery of products that support C.H. Robinson global operations and its 15,000 employees.

Develop, maintain and enhance software for administrative, Web and cloud-based applications using Python. Provide programming support and management of a product catalog of over 75,000 products and data systems containing over 75 million records across three large Magento e-commerce sites in the U.S. and Canada. As lead programmer and developer I fulfill multiple roles and manage numerous projects concurrently. Above all, I use code everyday to solve both simple and complex problems; to clean, package and port data between systems; and automate processes with the goal of building efficiencies in Web-based and real-world scenarios.

I work in numerous languages and programs any given day including: PHP, Python 3, XML, JSON, SOAP & RESTful API Web Services, MySQL, SQLite, Jupyter, NumPy, Linux Shell, Bash, JavaScript, EDI X12 scripting, Magento 1 & Magento 2 and Python Django & Flask most commonly. I apply these tools to develop solutions for internal and external processes, whether streamlining AR, customer service, or marketing tasks or using scripts to manage disparate databases and aggregate data for processing.

I founded Creekbed Digital in 2008 as a private, boutique design and development company. As lead developer and project manager, I have deployed over 225 website, application and data projects. With aggressive growth in the Midwest market, my work has earned the business of over 75 satisfied clients.

I oversee all concept prototyping, development, data architecture, deployment and account management for Creekbed, working one-on-one with clients to prepare and execute Web strategy and development.

• Programmed a real estate listings application that retrieves property data, pictures and other details from a remote SOAP / XML service provided by the Wisconsin Multiple Listings Service (MLS). This data is warehoused, updated four times daily and is used by over 10 real estate offices.
• Working together with teams from the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation and the American Indian Chamber of Commerce, I engineered a tribal business directory for participating tribes to post RFPs to member contractors throughout the state of Wisconsin. These contractors register, self-publish, and manage their profiles using our program and are alerted when RFPs are posted. This addresses a long-time need to connect qualified contractors with jobs, specifically on tribal reservations, and to provide tribal personnel with a tool to search and locate contractors in their areas.
• Served as project lead and developer to Pawn America and its 24 store locations across the Midwest. After four larger agencies failed, I came into the project and got them up and running with a new ecommerce website and companion mobile application that made entering product on the site easy for store personnel. Using my application, store managers helped propel the new site with 50,000 unique products within the first month.
• Web developer and programmer for Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians from 2010 - 2015. Created inter-departmental employee portal, designed front-end UX for 12 tribal departments, tribal casino, and schools. Introduced new technologies to communicate Tribal Governing Board news to community members and the general public.
